Season 2024
Time flies, so do we! π
2024 was a year full of dynamics, new friends, new adventures, and of course lots of flying.
Looking back at the year we are happy to see the many smiling faces that joined our paragliding adventures.
We started the training season in April
With the first beginners courses full – our training hill saw a lot of action and happy faces.
For another year we made lots of new friends from all around the world. Students from Israel, Bulgaria, USA, Belgium, UK, Finland, Hungary, Netherlands, Ukraine, New Zealand and Switzerland flocked in on our Beginners and Intermediate paragliding courses and took their first steps in the amazing world of free flying.
And as May and June passed by, the clouds grew bigger and the smell of roses once again took over our landing fields π
With the end of Spring came the Cross Country season.
At the end of June the last of the spring rain storms created some amazing pictures in the sky:
And amongst beautiful skies our XC Training courses went into full power. With many people again setting their personal bests into new territories and expanding their XC and thermaling knowledge.
And in the rare times we had to do some para-waiting our trusty whiteboard on wheels was in full use π
The dry conditions made August hot and strong. Ivelin Kalushkov along with Nikolay Stoayanov and Samuil Kazakov made a trip to the Romanian gliding Magiunului Cup where they explored the vast flatlands north of the Danube:
In the mean time Nikolay Yotov was showing some unique routes to Sopot and exploring the Pyrocumulus of the forest fires in the area.
Despite the dry conditions the thermals were strong and cloud base was high so the XC season continued with our XC guiding groups.
Our friends from South Africa, United Kingdom, Finland, Norway and Kenya ventured the country side in search for the best flying conditions.
Lots of happy faces , lots of long distance flying and surprisingly good conditions even at the end of the usual summer season.
Some amazing XC conditions were giving us a good extension of the season even in late September.
Our regular groups of the British Condors and the Finnish Invasion joined us for a fun time in the sky and on the ground, enjoying not only the local sky but also the local cuisine.
In fun and good times we almost missed the signs that Autumn was coming!
It was again the time for training and teaching eager minds how to spread their wings and fly!
As any new skill, flying has it’s natural path and learning curve – and part of that curve is learning that trees sometimes tend to grow fast π
One thing is for sure – the smiles were always there with our happy newly flown birds! And we were as always happy to make new friends form all around the world.
We finished the season with some amazing autumn cloud-sea surfing!
And to top off the end of the season the Skynomad family grew bigger with 1 new member – congratulations to Nikolay Yotov and his wife Ina for their newborn baby boy – Blagin – may he lift them up with happiness higher than any thermal!
…
We also had an addition to the club staff – with 3 flying mouse catchers – that are ready to chase any vermin from the clubhouse gliders – the least they can do since they were born amongst them π
It was another exciting year for us and our team, a lot of new friends and a lot of flying!
Looking forward to next years adventures and the friends weβre going to make in 2025.
