Season 2025
2025 passed as quickly as we flew trough it!
Making again a lot of new friends and spending amazing time in the air with old ones.
We began the season with our beginners courses in April.
Marked by rainy weather the first few days of our very first season course forced us to do some theory and training indoors. But eventually the weather smiled and allowed our multicultural course to take to the skies. For another year we saw many, many smiling faces of all the new friends we made worldwide. Students from Bulgaria, UK, Israel, Iran, USA, Malaysia, Ireland, Australia, Germany and many other places flocked in our little nest under the sky to learn how to make their first flights in the air.

Takeoffs were challenging and landings were sometimes interesting, weather was not always cooperative but gave us the time needed.
One thing didn’t change tough – the smiles were always present.

The valley of the roses again reminded us how beautiful spring can be with some amazing views.
New friends were made -in the air and on the ground … some of them were 4-legged 🙂

Then weather and the conditions sometimes required theory to be done on our mobile whiteboard 🙂

All and all – smiles were flying around! Students were happy, and the instructors were even happier and proud to introduce so many new friends to the skies.

Cross-Country season was knocking on the door!
To warm up for the XC season we started with our first thermaling courses that prepared our students for the intensity of our XC training courses.
Again personal records were broken and some amazing flights were done with some students beating their best time, distance, and height records sometimes all in one flight.

And just like that it was again mid-summer – conditions were booming and we were flying to the maximum.
Nikolay Yotov made a few amazing flights in the heart of the Rhodopie Mountains with some amazing views.

In the mean time Ivelin Kalushkov was breaking gliding records in NE Bulgaria, completing a 517 km flight – an accomplishment not done in more than 20 years in Bulgaria.
In addition to that the Skynomad – Avium team took the podium at the Bulgaraian National Gliding Championship in Shtraklevo. With Ivelin Kalushkov taking the first place in the Nationals followed by Nikolay Stoyanov and Samuil Kazakov – all members of Skynomad.

In the peak of the season we resumed a tradition and organized the Skynomad Open 2025 & Bulgarian Paragliding Nationals
Over 30 pilots tested their abilities against some of the best flying conditions that the rose valley could offer. A total of 4 successful tasks were flown with many people in goal on almost every task and no accidents!
Detailed info and official results can be found on the competition official page. https://civlcomps.org/event/skynomad-open-2025

We continued our season with lots of flying with our regular groups from the UK, our Finnish Invasion and many other international friends who managed to get some amazing flying in the late part of the season. Unique views, amazing conditions, cloudbase over 3500 m and easy flights over 100 km, made for an excellent XC in late August and begining of September.

To top off the XC season we again hosted the British Paragliding Cup. Despite the difficult weather and logistic challenges 3 successful tasks were flown from Beklemeto takeoff. Happy faces and smiles were noticed all around 🙂

And just like that Autumn arrived!
Our Autumn season students also flocked from all around the world again to learn the basics of paragliding or to better them selves with our Active Piloting courses
Again we had a week of challenging weather but also very nice weather to finish the season with successful courses, smiling students and many happy hours in the air.

A big THANK YOU goes to all our new and old friends who trusted us to help them achieve their flying dreams.
The year is coming to it’s end but the new year brings new opportunities. We look forward to 2026 and the new friends we will hopefully make!
